Ignition System

The ECU controls ignition timing as well as the fuel injection

  • Option 1 - ECU controlled "single coil and distributor" ignition. Wiring is included in the package for this.

  • Option 2  - Distributorless coil pack. A coil is available from Omex, or use your own. Selection of wiring connectors supplied in package. Click below to purchase.​

Step 4

Engine Speed and Position Sensor

Accuracy = Power = crank triggered engine speed and position sensor

Later engines (e.g. Zetec) may already have a suitable crank trigger. Earlier engines need crank triggering adding:

  • Option 1 - Use the existing sensor on your engine.

  • Option 2 - Source an engine-specific aftermarket 36trigger kit. 

  • Option 3 - Purchase a universal trigger package from Omex. Click below to purchase.

Optional Extras

If you need to meet catalyst emission standards, click below to purchase a sensor.

Some engines have 2 stage cam control 1 or 2 wire solenoids. If needed, click below to purchase the wiring to suit your solenoid.
